Gun Safety

The following are some gun safety tips and resources:
  • Keep your guns in a safe and secure place, especially out of the reach of small children.
  • Educate yourself on being a gun owner – take a gun safety class. Classes are available in most counties.
  • Educate your children about guns – what to do if they find one or what to do if someone is playing with a gun in their vicinity.
  • Use a gun lock or gun safe to safety secure firearms.
  • Make sure parents and caregivers "Just Ask" if there is a gun where their child plays or is going to stay.
  • Know the laws of your state regarding gun ownership. Most states, have laws that if you fail to safely store your firearms, you could pay a price.
If you want to dispose of a gun call your local sheriff or police department and they will be able to safely dispose of it.
