During a crisis, no matter how quickly professional emergency responders arrive, bystanders will always be first on the scene. This class will teach you how to take simple actions immediately to help save a life. The Trauma Center at Duke University Hospital is committed to helping our community to become lifesavers.

Class Description

This FREE course is part lecture and part hands-on skills training. In it, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize bleeding that is life-threatening
  • Apply direct pressure to wounds
  • Apply a tourniquet

No prior medical knowledge or training is necessary to take the course.

Stop The Bleed is a 90-minute course designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to help save a life.
